We wanted to remind you that membership with the Michiana Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is per calendar year. That means it's time to renew or join to get the full benefit of 2012 membership.

Did you know the Michiana Chapter was awarded the Pinnacle Award and Superior Merit Award by SHRM? These awards recognizes excellence in chapter operations, a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services our members, and highlight our community involvement.

The purpose of chapter membership is to provide a local forum for your personal and professional development; provide an opportunity to develop your leadership, managerial, public speaking and group decision-making skills; provide a local networking arena; and to provide a focus for legislative attention to local, state, and national human resource management issues. Membership in a SHRM local chapter is separate and apart from membership in National SHRM. We encourage you to become a member of both!
 
We are pleased to be able to offer all the great benefits of membership at a very affordable price. We offer four different kinds of membership, here’s an explanation:

*Pre-Paid Lunch Membership (BEST VALUE) – Join Michiana SHRM and pre-pay for your attendance at our monthly lunch meetings. One charge and you are set for the year. All of our lunch meetings in 2011 were approved for recertification credit for PHR, SPHR, and GPHR by the HR Certification Institute. We plan on offering the same credit in 2012!
COST: $210.00 (Discounted rate of $170.00 for individuals who are also National SHRM members)
 
*Regular Membership– Join Michiana SHRM and have access to all the benefits of membership including the member directory, networking with peers, and discounted rates for our monthly lunch meetings.
COST: $75.00 (Discounted rate of $35 for individuals who are also National SHRM members)
 
*Student Membership– student membership is limited only to full-time students who are not currently employed and who do not have professional HR work experience. It’s for individuals who are exploring the possibility of a future career in HR.
COST: $FREE
 
*Transitional Membership– on a one-time basis, we offer a free 3-month membership to HR professionals who are currently unemployed. We are not able to refund membership dues to anyone who becomes unemployed, but are happy to extend this offer to anyone who is unemployed at the time of membership.  
     COST: $FREE
